The Lumina dressing’s consist of a thin polyurethane membrane, coated with a layer of an innovative switchable adhesive. The dressing, which is permeable to both water vapour and oxygen, is impermeable to micro-organisms once in position, it provides an effective bacterial barrier to external contamination. When applied, the adhesive is strong and offers secure adhesion to the skin.
Switching occurs by the use of the Switch Torch supplied by Lumina.

How to apply Lumina Dressings
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
The Lumina dressings follow the same application method as any other similar dressing. The preparation of the skin is important to ensure a good fixation. The skin shall be clean and dry. Lumina dressings do not require skin prep (adhesive enhancing products). Wash the skin with mild soap and make sure to rinse properly. Pat dry and leave to air a few minutes. An alcohol wipe can also be used to ensure a good fixation surface for the dressing.
Once the skin has been prepared it is time to apply the dressing. Open the peel pouch containing the foil envelope. The foil envelope is easily torn along one the long edges to enable easy access to the dressing. Remove one portion of the release liners, exposing a portion of the dressing’s adhesive. Place the dressing on the skin in the desired location, pat down on the adhesive area. Now remove the remaining release liner(s) and pad down again. The light pressure applied during the patting helps the adhesive to build physical contact with the skin.
Cover the dressing with clothing, a bed sheet or similar. We recommend keeping the applied dressing covered from light during as much of the use as possible. This is especially important when it comes to sun light (the sun light contains the same wavelength as the switch lamp).
